Virginia M. Brown Memorial Women’s Ministries Scholarship

Virginia M. (McClure) Brown who was born in Wichita, KS was baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, at the age of 14. She attended Oakwood College, after high school, where she met R. C. Brown, a ministerial student. Following their marriage, both she and Elder R. C. Brown, Sr. served in God’s service to spread the Seventh Day Adventist message throughout the South and the Midwest. In Virginia’s commitment to the Seventh Day Adventist message, she served in several ministries; however, she was especially involved, in the Women’s Ministries Program, over a period of decades. In memorial to the Women’s Ministries and Oakwood University, she wanted their mission to continue, especially by encouraging other young women to complete their education, and minister to others. The Virginia M. Brown Women’s Ministries Scholarship was established, fulfilling her wishes to financially aid in the future of Seventh Day Adventist young women.
