My name is Neviana McDonald, I am described as musical, intelligent, funny, passionate, talented and strong. I was born in Washington DC on the 13th of May 2004. I was raised on the lovely twin island nation of Antigua and Barbuda by my parents Neville and Diana McDonald, along with my two siblings Devonte and Nyerah McDonald of which I’m the eldest sibling. I am Currently attending the Oakwood University, majoring in Business Management. My intentions are to one day start and manage my own business so that I may give back to the community who has given so much to me. My passions include poetry, singing, dance and exercise.
I served as the President of the Caribbean Student Association for the 2023-2024 school year. My goal was to ensure that my fellow Caribbean students did not feel alone as I did when I first arrived. During my reign, I orchestrated Oakwood University’s first ever Island Show in which every Caribbean island was well represented and the masses were educated on our true Caribbean history and culture. Due to my passion for music and singing, I joined the Voices of Triumph in 2022 and became soprano section leader in 2023 where I helped my fellow sopranos reach their fullest potential.
UNCF is important to me because it provides me with the opportunity and ability to be able to go to school through scholarships. My parents, being international, don’t make US currency so it’s very hard for them to help with tuition. UNCF has helped me and others in my situation to be able to get an education and I am so excited to be a part of this pageant so that I may become part of this amazing purpose.
